Flax seed benefits digestion, and when combined with water, it can help alleviate various digestive issues.
There’s hardly anyone who hasn’t faced a digestive problem, at least once in their life. If you’ve been experiencing discomfort, cramps, bloating, and gas for an extended period, this “remedy” with flaxseeds might put an end to it.
You only need two ingredients that are likely already in your home:
- 1 teaspoon ground flaxseed
- 1 glass of mineral water
In the evening, before going to bed, put a flat teaspoon of ground flaxseed in a glass and pour mineral water over it. Gently stir it and leave it at room temperature overnight. It needs to sit for at least eight hours.
The next morning, most of the water will be absorbed by the seeds, and if any remains, it might have a jelly-like texture. Before breakfast, on an empty stomach, consume the soaked flaxseeds from the glass.
The dosage is for one-time use, and you need to prepare it again every day.
You can mix the flaxseed-water mixture with yogurt or kefir, or add it to a smoothie, oatmeal, or a serving of cereal. Generally, flaxseeds have no adverse effects, but it’s essential not to overconsume. When incorporating it into your diet, make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day.
Do not exceed more than four teaspoons of ground flaxseed per day to avoid causing diarrhea. Additionally, if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking any medications, consult with a doctor before adding flaxseed to your diet.
