A Grandma’s Elixir for Liver Cleansing

My grandmother’s recipe for Liver Cleansing has been my go-to for years, and today, at the age of 50 with oily skin, I still swear by this drink. In just three days, this elixir cleanses the liver, restoring it to normal function.

‘Your liver is like a tea strainer,’ my grandmother would vividly explain. ‘When the strainer gets clogged, just like with a tea filter, it’s no longer functional. You have to rinse it to put it back to use. The same applies to this organ and the entire body.’

There are numerous beneficial teas and concoctions for liver cleansing, such as ‘burdock root,’ dandelion root, fresh goat whey, freshly squeezed carrot juice, beet-root, and apple. However, some elixirs work swiftly and have a revitalizing effect.

One such elixir is according to my grandmother’s recipe. Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients:

  • 10-12 seedless dates
  • 4 dried figs
  • 6-7 prunes
  • 500 ml water

Procedure: Remove the seeds from the dates and cut them in half. Cut the dried figs into quarters. Add the dried prunes, and pour half a liter of water over the dried fruits. Place it on the stove, and when it boils, reduce the temperature and simmer for 10 minutes. Then strain the liquid. Keep the fruits aside in a separate container and blend them.

Usage: Consume one glass on an empty stomach in the morning, three times a week. You can eat the puree obtained from the boiled fruits, either after the drink or add it to oatmeal. For additional details, refer HERE.
